Information Consolidation

For many years, I've included the 10 Things About Wicca page on the site. I've always liked this short little explanation of Wicca, but have constantly worked hard on the Basics of Wicca page that includes information on myths about and components of Wicca. The two pages seemed to cover the same basic purpose: briefly explain what Wicca is. As such, I've gone through the information from the 10 Things list and made adjustments to the Basics page. In some cases, the Basics page already completely touched on all the points in the 10 Things list. Where it didn't, the Basics page has been expanded to include the valuable points of the 10 Things list. From now on, the 10 Things About Wicca page will no longer be available on the site. Please check out the Basics of Wicca page to see the new revision!

Witches' Pyramid

I've added a new page to the site today. You can find information on The Witches' Pyramid in the Information Beyond the Basics section. This page briefly discusses the Witches' Pyramid both in magick and other applications. Although, when a fifth step is added to the pyramid, it is generally To Go, I find this pretty useless. To Dare and To Will already cover what others say To Go does. Instead, I like the system as including To Imagine, as I found presented by Kerr Cuhulain in Wiccan Warrior and Full Contact Magick. Revised Layout

I've revised the layout to make the navigation somewhat easier. Rather than having only two categories (Wiccan Basics and Book of Shadows) to divide several pages of information, there are now four.

The Wiccan Basics section primarily covers very generalized information on Wicca and Witchcraft as well as a few common pieces such as The Charge of the Goddess and the Witches' Creed.

The Information Beyond the Basics section contains history, ethics and etiquette, forms of magick, and other metaphysical areas such as divination and auras.

The Book of Shadows section, rather than being a compilation of BoS material and other information beyond the basics, is now laid out to be more representative of a witch's Book of Shadows by featuring the Ordains, rituals, chants, and spells.

Finally, the Correspondences section, as the name implies, holds pages with correspondence information, such as the magickal uses of herbs and crystals.

Hopefully the new revision will make your navigation through the site easier. I'm also counting on the new layout giving a better understanding of what information the site contains when simply glancing at the main page. Please let me know what you think of the new layout! If you have any ideas and suggestions, do not hesitate to let me know!

I have been meaning to add a page of this variety to the site for quite some time. I generally have opted to not add a mini-bio of myself because I prefer for the focus to be on the website. However, as I become more experienced in the professional world, I'm finding that people want to know who is behind the work if only to provide validation to the information presented. As such, you can find my mini-bio on the site on the About Me page.

New Random Rambling

It's been five years since I've posted a rambling to the site, despite pleas from guests encouraging me to never stop. It's long delayed, but I've added a rambling entitled "Moving Away From Wicca." Be sure to check the Random Ramblings page to read the latest rant!

Future Updates

Thanks to a glorious three weeks without school and two 4-day holidays at work, I'll be spending some of this extra time working on updates. Expect to see new discussions at the forums and new pages at the site. Among some of the intended updates to the site during this time will be a new Random Rambling, more spells and chants, and, of course, information. Keep an eye out for all the updates and discussions!

New Updates Blog

Messages in the Moonlight had a blog set-up for updates in the past. I loved this immensely as visitors and forum members could view site updates and post comments about them all in one place. When Geocities shut down and I moved the site to a paid hosting program, I couldn't use the host blog program without turning the entire website into a blog. To resolve this, I went back to the old style of using a single webpage to house all the updates.

I've missed the blog set-up so much that I've opened a blogger account just for Messages in the Moonlight updates! Here I will post any updates to the website, as well as forum updates, as usual. The only differences will be a more appealing layout as well as the ability to comment on the updates that have been made. I hope you enjoy the new updates!
